The Radeon Instinct MI100 is a professional graphics card by AMD, launched on November 16th, 2020. Built on the 7 nm process, and based on the Arcturus graphics processor, in its Arcturus XL variant, the card does not support DirectX. Since Radeon Instinct MI100 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The Arcturus graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 750 mm² and 25,600 million transistors. It features 7680 shading units, 480 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. AMD has paired 32 GB HBM2 memory with the Radeon Instinct MI100, which are connected using a 4096-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1000 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1502 MHz, memory is running at 1200 MHz.
